ORCHESTRA SHOWCASE - Juan D'Arienzo
***********************************************************
We showcase and turn the spotlight on the music and
orchestra of Juan D'Arienzo
Full of rhythm, power and energy, Juan D'Arienzo created a
pure Argentine tango music by restoring tango back to the
original 2/4 rhythm, that became the standard for argentine
tango dance music.
The basis of his orchestra consisted of five violins, bases,
five bandoneons, singers, and piano. In some performance,
the orchestra is even doubled
The music is unmistakable, with its rhythmical style - harder
rhythmic tangos with a strong staccato dance rhythm. He was
known as "El Rey del Compas", King of the Beat. The Tangos,
milongas and valses are fast and furious. It never fails to
lift the mood and energy of dancers in a milonga.
His orchestra was very popular in the 40's and 50's for the
dance beat and credited with leading the dancers' feet.
The playlist consist of a fair representation of his classic
Tango instrumentals, valses and milongas.
